Kenray formers are supplied with Chrome Coating* unless specified otherwise. This is an industry standard method of providing a longer life span to the former. Some films are more abrasive than the others & it is this factor that will determine how quickly a former will wear.

In certain circumstances a harder, more durable coating is required. In this instance we would recommend our Former Guard coating. It is highly resistant to wear. Comparable time scales for wear on very abrasive filme show a percentage increase in lifespan of the former when treated with this coating. This coating is intended for forming shoulders.
KFlow is an Armoloy coating. This is used mainly on tubes to reduce the wear & friction that is caused when comparing film moving across a flat
surface. With the introduction of ever thinner films (typically around 35 microns) that tend to stretch & force production speeds to lower, our KFlow (metalised films) coating can help maitain bag speeds similar to those achievable with thicker film.
For applications that include packaging of sticky products it is often prudent to place a coating
such as KSlip. This coating is also food approved & usually used inside the tube. It is similar to Teflon but is reinforced to withstand the rigours
of industrial use. This coating is intended for use on tubes.
In certain applications such as packaging potatoes & other heavy products noise may become an issue. In these cases we are able to supply noise-dampening coatings on the inside & outside of your infeed or top chute delivery system.
Armour plate is a ultra hard surface coating that offers lasting & durable protection to Aluminium Plates often used on forming sets to reduce weight.
This eliminates the problem some producers have with corrosion of the plates when aggressive cleaner chemicals are used after sometime. This coating is intended for use on aluminium plates.
