Frito-Lay Inc. was founded in 1961, by merging of The Frito Company and H.W. Lay Company. Today Frito-Lay brands account for 40% of the world snack chip industry and 59% of the U.S. industry.

With the increasing interest in snack products in Central and Eastern Europe Frito-Lay found its way to Poland. In 1993 they built the first snack plant in Grodzisk Mazowiecki. At the moment snacks are manufactured and distributed by Frito-Lay Poland Sp. z o.o. from its plants in Grodzisk Mazowiecki and Tomaszów Mazowiecki.

In 2008 Frito-Lay decided to improve and modernise their production lines in both snacks plants. KENRAY was brought on board when Frito-Lay decided to provide their machines with supreme forming sets to increase their efficiency.

Frito-Lay requested from their OEM that KENRAY formers were to be used on existing machines. That led to a mutual cooperation between Frito-Lay, KENRAY and the OEM which has produced a fantastic outcome. Our expertise developed over many years of working with snack customers was utilised in order to assure high speed and accurate packing.

In addition, KENRAYS focus on improvement, efficiency and productivity also helped Frito-Lay to achieve excellent bag quality exceeding their high standards. We managed to attain excellent film control which led to better quality and presentation of end seals. This led to Frito-Lay decreasing their operating costs.

Having provided the customer with our snacks range of formers the inlet speeds and performance improvements were made. Due to the mutual cooperation we have been able to demonstrate packing speeds of up to 170 bags per minute, enhanced product flow and finally reduced downtime.
