SnackEx 2022 Hamburg Kenray Forming Stand

SnackEx 2022 – Hamburg

Last week Kenray participated in SnackEx 2022, Hamburg. This event is a hive of information and contacts with expert speakers from all aspects of the snack industry.

This year our stand was managed by Alberto and Kate who have an in-depth knowledge of our range of formers and were on hand to answer any questions from customers.

We exhibited a range of our offering including:

Product strippers
Kenray Accessories
Snack Formers
Training and Consultancy

Our stand also showcased our partnership with Greener Corporation in the USA who manufacture sealing jaws and other components for horizontal flow wrappers and vertical form fill seal baggers.

There was a great range of solutions and products at the show including many new entrants bringing innovative ideas to the industry.

It was great to catch up with clients new and old and we look forward to seeing everyone at SnackEx again in 2024!

Kenray India Plant Opened by Deputy High Commissioner

Kenray is celebrating the inauguration of our new plant in India & we were delighted to be joined by Alan Gemmel, Deputy High Commissioner & Her Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for South Asia who officially opened the new plant.

Our new facility will strengthen our services across Asia and beyond and will allow for further growth for Kenray products & services.

A big thank you to everyone who has helped make this move a success.

Kenray Expands Distributor Network in the Middle East by Welcoming Reliable Global

Meet Our Sales Team at Kenray

Hello everyone. My name is Dan Atkin, and I’m the head of sales at Kenray. I’d like to take a few moments today to show you around our newly refitted sales office here at Kenray headquarters.

As you can see from this map, we have technical sales people in numerous countries throughout the world, there on hand to deal with your enquiry and provide you with the best possible solution for your application.

Here we have two key members of the Kenray sales team. First, we have Stacey, Stacey looks after our after sales side and across from her we have Julie, Julie deals with order processing and making sure that all the details rather correct before your job moves on to the next stage of the process, which is engineering.

Our high quality communication and conferencing Software System allows us to stay in contact with the regional members of the Kenray sales team as well as our customers from across the globe.

Kenray team expansion – Mark Tilley, Packaging Technologist & Material Specialist

Kenray Forming Ltd continues to grow its capabilities and expertise in the field of packaging materials and is pleased to announce the arrival of Mark Tilley as Packaging Technology and Materials specialist, who will be working closely with Commercial Director, Mark Evans and Technical Director Andrew Dennis.

Mark brings with him over 30 years of experience in FMCG, both as an end-user with PepsiCo International, and also as a Technical SME. He has an in-depth knowledge of flexible packaging, and of late has been heavily involved in the complex world of sustainable packaging selection, application and specification.

Kenray offers clients four decades of experience along with continuous development in R&D and is regarded as the global leader in Forming Sets for VFFS food and pharmaceutical packaging machines. Mark’s addition to the team expands Kenray’s ability to consult with clients and provide a holistic solution to their needs in a world of fast-changing regulatory and environmental demands.

Kenray Forming Set Refurbishments – a sustainable and cost effective solution

In today’s short video. I’d like to talk to you a little bit about refurbishment and how we can take your old set and turn it back into a new one. Once we receive your former we identify it, tag it and give it a serial number to keep track. We’ll look at the former and identify any obvious problems with it.

In this example, you can see there is damage to the forming shoulder. Once the engineers have collected all the information and establish what needs doing, we’ll get in touch with you and send you a quotation.

Once quotations been accepted we will produce a Kenray job card, so we can proceed with the work. The next step in the process will be to disassemble the former to ensure it’s completely clean and replace any parts that are required.

Once that has been complete, we will reassemble the former and check it over to make sure everything is correct.

The final step in the process will be to machine test the former on one of our in-house testing machines.

So there you can see, we can take your old forming set and turn it around and return it to you. So, it’s as good as new for more information about how we can help you.

PPMA Show Success for Kenray

Kenray exhibited at the PPMA Show, NEC last week and it was great to see exhibitions back in action after the pandemic.

Dan Atkin and Alan Beverly & Kenray Team showcased the latest Kenray developments in forming solutions including horizontal folding boxes, Paper film solutions and our new stick pack formers.

There was a great range of technologies shown at the show and it was great to meet existing clients again amongst the many new faces attending for the first time.

Seeing the PPMA busy and full of familiar faces was great to know businesses are bouncing back after COVID-19 restrictions, we are excited for what the future holds and can’t wait to work together soon.

Kenray Global Partnership with Zanon VFFS HFFS Solutions

Kenray announces our latest Strategic Partnership – Zanon

Kenray is delighted to announce its new strategic partner, Zanon Forming, who are located in the Lupari region of Northern Italy.

This move is designed to allow both companies to expand their product ranges and geographical span and to give better support to the customers. This allows both companies to specialize in their various areas of expertise, within the forming sector.

For example, Kenray specialises in highly complex doy and quad sets and formers for the snack industry. Whilst Zanon specialises in formers for the cereals, produce and agricultural sectors.

As with all Kenray products, each former is machine tested for quality control and verification purposes before dispatch.

This exciting new partnership allows the Kenray group to maximize its technical expertise by combining its increased high quality manufacturing capabilities.

Troubleshooting Front Drive Belt Issues – Solutions from Kenray Forming

Mark Evans from Kenray. Today’s short blog is talking a little bit about some of the common problems experienced with front drive belt formers.

Here, you can see a typical former that’s been returned for some refurbishment work.

Typically, you’ll see burn marks on the center of the PTFE strip. Either side of the PTFE strip you’ll see grooves that have been warn by the drive belts.

Here you can see the comparison between the old and the new PTFE strip.

We recommend you change these frequently as the uneven surface will compromise the back seal.

We would also recommend that when you change the PTFE strip, you change the drive belts at the same time. At Kenray,

we’ve developed many variants of the TNA back seal to ensure, proper sealing, particularly with Matt and paper film.

In the example, shown the PTFE is replaced by stainless steel, which also assists in keeping the tube stable.

The insert in the center can be replaced with different materials to seal different films.
